"Your Kid Needs a Personal Trainer?" posted by ~Ray

and fitness and all that good stuff thinking wow how cool is that? Personal trainers for kids. Who knew? So WTF do they need a personal trainer for? Unless they're going to be an ath-a-leet or something. In which case yeah bring it! Although if you want to pay me $50 an hour to make your kid run around. I will take it gladly. But um what if some kids have forgotten how to play? Are there kids like that? Kids so used to plonking down in front of the TV or the video games that they have abandoned their natural inclinations and don't remember how to use their bodies to move and express themselves through the sheer joy of running around like maniacs (which any toddler knows). I think that's possible. And very sad. So sure those kids would likely be helped by a personal trainer who could teach them how to use their bodies again. Even better would be if the parents of those kids got involved. [sigh] Sometimes I think that throwing our kids out the door to play is the best thing ever. I just wish more kids had an actual place to play. Too many families live where there just isn't anywhere; parents feel unsafe about their kids being outside and who wants to drive 4 blocks (or walk shudder!) and sit around watching their kid play at a park or rec center (and many parents simply lack the time)? It's a sad commentary on our society and the fact that exercise is now a luxury for so many people that so many kids really do need help in re-learning a simple and natural thing like exercise. The very most mine do in a formal way is some yoga. And my 11-year old likes my dumbbells (about once a month). But I'm still really at a loss to understand how these kids live that they don't get any exercise naturally.

"Making Your New Year's Fitness Resolution a Reality - Part 1" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 16:17:09

By: Paul M. Jerard Jr. How go most resolutions don't defeat past Valentine's Day? What gives a few determined people the will to continue while so many displace off at the sidelines? How can you make sure that you will have the "alter cram" to fasten to a resolution?Being from the health / fitness / wellness industry. I undergo seen droves of enthusiastic and health minded clients come through the doors in early January. Within a month or two many of them were gone. When I worked at Ocean express Fitness some of the personal trainers would bet on the odds of a client making it to February. Below. I have outlined a preliminary bet plan for anyone who wants to succeed at anything. This doesn't just apply to fitness body building weight loss. Yoga martial arts or quitting smoking. The principles below apply to everything you can attain in life. Write your resolution drink and put it somewhere you will see it every day. If you plan on a New Year's Resolution do it as soon as possible. intend it out in your mind and understand that you ordain be at a few parties between now and then. Design a realistic short-term goal and a long-range goal. Be prepared for some set backs choose yourself up and act forward. For example: If you made a resolution to lose weight do you think you ordain eat ameliorate all year. There's going to be at least one kind of junk food you ordain crave. The worst thing you can do is get depressed over being human. If you overate smoked a cigarette or drank too much get approve into your new healthy lifestyle right away. Eventually you will be less self-indulgent but bequeath. "Rome wasn't built in a day."The biggest difference between populate who persist and those who don't is consistency. You won't see any big changes in your health in a hit day so don't beat yourself up over skipping a workout unless you alter it a trend. If you find yourself having trouble get professional advice. communicate to your family physician consult a personal trainer. Yoga teacher or life instruct and adjust your plans to fit within your lifestyle. Talk is cheap so make a intend and take action based upon what you learn. Maximize your potential by using the knowledge that you pay for.© Copyright 2005 - Paul Jerard / Aura PublicationsArticle Source: http://www articleyard comInformation about the Author: Paul Jerard is the director of Yoga teacher training at Aura in RI. "7 Critical Questions To Ask Your Personal Trainer - To Avoid ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-01 21:53:58

There are a lot of misleading and downright dishonest gimmicks and solutions out there in the health and fitness industry and choosing an honest reliable and results driven personal trainer can be tough. Before you even believe hiring a personal trainer believe these 7 criteria to sight a solid and proven fitness professional that ordain guarantee results.1) What is their education and certification? A national accredited certification through a reputable agency such as the National Strength & Conditioning Association or the American Council on Exercise not some weekend come down course where you pay for a certificate. Even with a certification a trainer is only as good as the results they get with their clients. A solid academic background with a minimum of a live's in Exercise Science or related field ordain ensure a personal trainer has the proper knowledge and background to create a results driven program that will mouth exactly what you need to get results fast.2) Are you paying for sessions or results? The standard believe of a personal training is you pay for sessions and you workout. Are you paying for sessions or the results from an effective and fat burning fitness schedule? Any number of populate can lead you through a workout session. They be to be more than a rep counter at your sessions they need to be a coach that will show you all the critical elements to bring home the bacon your health and fitness goals. You should receive nutritional strategies motivational strategies and continuous accountability through email and telecommunicate. You should receive continuous guidance and support through every step of your seek for fitness. be for a personal trainer that ordain not just furnish you sessions but give a detailed intend of action week by week to pledge your results and fitness success.3) Do they have a proven system for results? A highly successful personal trainer should do more than just act your money - they should undergo a proven system for delivering results with every single client. A system that addresses each component of the fitness puzzle. A method for coaching you through and ensuring you actually stick with the schedule checking up on you each week to make sure you fasten with the program for your own success.4) What is their pledge? (or do they change surface have a guarantee) What? A personal trainer guarantee? Yes! You invest into your body with a trainer you better make sure you will actually get something in go. A highly driven and successful fitness professional will not act involuntarily an eye at offering a guarantee. After all if they deliver results there should be no mind about a guarantee. Having a written and marketed pledge proves you won't be throwing away your hard earned $$ or your precious measure. Never work with a personal trainer unless they furnish a 100% Money-Back pledge.5) Will they back up you to alter fitness a way of life for your future? What you need is really a Fitness Coach not a Personal Trainer. Personal training is the service of guiding you through a workout fitness coaching is the function of guiding you through getting you a fit body (more than just a workout). Having a fitness instruct with you every go of the way will back up you to avoid the confusion and misleading info out there and find out how to maintain fitness as a way of life not a temporary condition.6) What experience to they have in the fitness industry? A highly dedicated and motivated personal trainer will be dedicated to fitness as a go. You don't want someone who has fitness as just a hobby who thinks hanging out at the gym is a social event. be for a personal trainer who dedicates them self to continuous learning and continuous improvement. Who has proven credibility through writing speaking and credentials. Do they undergo published articles? Are they relied upon by the media? Do they furnish presentations to public groups? Have they been interviewed as a credible source for fitness information? These are things to believe to back up cause if they are actually serious about fitness which means results for you.7) Do they address every area needed to get you results? (not just training sessions) Look for someone that addresses more than just working out. be for someone that shows you how to consider proper eating habits motivational strategies to keep you going with your fitness program and gives you a detailed plan of challenge to get you to that body you desire in the shortest amount of measure possible. If you don't address each area you going to end up sunk with wasted time and $$.
